It's that time again, the time when the sun comes out and the bright ass colors are appearing on lips. Corals, bright reds and orange reds, peachy nudes, and hot hot pinks. Now these are mostly lipsticks, but there are a few stains and pigmented balms because until recently I was not a lipstick kind of girl...too much upkeep and I just didn't really like the shape of my lips. I've become more accepting of the natural shape of my lips and I have a new job that is more accommodating of lipstick touch ups.
I have 3 brands for you so I'll break it down that way.
The first brand is MAC of course! Honestly I don't really listen to seasonal color rules, I wear what I want when I want to wear it. For those of you who do believe in that shenanigans here and my top spring shades:
Creme Cup - This is a light blue based pink with a cremesheen finish. For me it really just adds a teensy bit of color and a bit of shine. I love it!
Crosswires - This is a clean pinky orange with a cremesheen finish. I absolutely love this shade! It looks so nice on my fair skin with my hair down and sunglasses on.
Lickable - This is a bright clean blue based pink with a cremesheen finish. It is the most beautiful fuchsia shade that looks good any time of year. I like to bust it out for spring time though because I like a bright lip when the sun comes out.
Lady Danger - This is a vivid bright red-coral with a matte finish--because it's matte I tend to wear lip balm underneath to combat the dryness of the formula.
Next up is the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids lipsticks.
Shocking Coral - A bright coral-red with a luminous finish. It leans more pink than anything else and it just absolutely gorgeous. This will be a go to color for summer as well.
Vibrant Mandarin - A bold, medium-dark tone orange with strong red undertones with a satiny finish. A freaking delicious shade. Seriously, guys, this lipstick is amazing. Get it ASAP!
The final product I'm including is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. They are effortless to apply, last a long time and stain your lips in an almost natural way that doesn't look stupid or like weird ass lip liner. And here are my picks:
Sweetheart - A lovely bright hot magenta-y pink. I think this would look good on every skin tone and it looks especially bright and beautiful on fairer tones like my own. When the balm wears off your lips are stained this color and it is a lovely thing.
Rendezvous - A fabulous orange shade, but not scary Carrot Top orange...just a nice bright summer shade! I was a little scared of this one at first, but I applied it pretty sheerly the first time and I've worked up to a pretty opaque application and I like it! Something about sunglasses, hair down and flowing in the wind, and sunshine makes this color awesome.
Well, that is all from me this time around. Hope you enjoyed and I'll have another post in a day or two.
Later lovelies.
