Hello lovelies!
I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaack, finally. Let me just
tell you, moving is a bitch. First off, packing is difficult for me because I’m
very organized in my head, but the execution leaves something to be desired and
all I can say is thank goodness for my boyfriend, Paul, who is amazing and kept
me focused. The apartment is awesome! So much better than I remembered and it’s
quiet!! Coming from a five bedroom apartment that had 6 people living in it, it
is dead quiet and I love it. The air conditioning actually works; we have a
spare bedroom and a linen closet…a LINEN CLOSET. I almost don’t know what to do
with all the extra space. Since its just Paul and I living here I finally feel
like an adult! Paying bills by ourselves, being able to pick out furniture that
we actually like, going to bed when we need to and not being kept awake by
roommates that don’t have to be to work early. It feels like heaven. My skin is
even beginning to clear up so it’s the best.
On to the haulage, while we were in the process of packing
the old place up I would occasionally get a little overwhelmed and my natural
response to that is to go to a drugstore…really just any place that has a
makeup section and cold drinks. In this case it was Target and then CVS because
they were having their clearance sale on select cosmetics.
Target is up first, they had the new-ish Revlon Lash Potion
mascara in packaging with a free black eyeliner for $4.99 and I never say no to
an eyeliner so I obviously picked that up. I also picked up the Vaseline Spray
& Go Moisturizer in Cocoa Radiant because I saw a few girls on YouTube say
that they liked it. I picked up the Neutrogena Age Shield Oil-Free Face
Sunscreen lotion. It’s SPF 110 which I’m sure is completely ridiculous, but
what can I say, I’m really pale and I’d like to stay that way. I also picked up
a couple really cute $1 nail files from Sally Hansen. Oh, I totally had to
fight the cashier about the price on the Revlon mascara because it rang up for
$9.99…so I escorted a manager over to the Revlon aisle and show her the display
and she gave it to me for $4.99 because the display was confusing and she
couldn’t figure out which was the right price either. Score!!
I then went to CVS on my way home from work last week, just
to get a few cold drinks for Paul and myself because it was really hot and we
were in the process of moving, blah blah blah, and I saw that there were Orly
nail polishes on clearance for 50% off because they changed their packaging so
I bought six: Cut the Cake, Lollipop, Basket Case, Terracotta , In the Navy,
and Luxe. They are such beautiful colors and I think Cut the Cake is a pretty
good dupe for Essie’s Shine of the Times which I didn’t have a chance to pick
up. While I was in the nail section the packaging for CND Solar Oil totally
caught my attention and I remembered hearing good things about it so I picked
it up on a whim because why not? The final two items I picked up are from Wet
‘n Wild; the first is the Comfort Zone palette because everyone on YouTube
won’t shut the hell up about it and I needed to see what all the hype was
about. I know that WnW has very pigmented shadows for cheap so I also purchased
a three-pan palette in I’m Getting Sunburned. So gorgeous, I already know I’m
going to be using it all summer long. The CVS I went to also had mini trial
sizes of more expensive hair products so I picked up a 2 oz size of It’s a 10
Miracle Leave-In treatment and a 1 oz size of the Macadamia Deep Repair masque.
I think they charge so much because mask is spelled fancy.
Overall I think I made some really great purchases and also
scored some decent bargains. Go me!
Until next time lovelies, stay beautiful! <3
